Title: City of the Future
Client: Museon
Location: Den Haag, NL
Year: 2013
Size: 400 m2
Subject: A view on cities of the future

This temporary exhibition was put together by Museon and the internet blog Popupcity (www.popupcity.net). It shows current social trends and the effect they could have on the city. The exhibition is divided into an inspiration section and a workshop area.

The whole exhibition is constructed with as many off the shelf products as possible. In the first section, graphic panels hang on rental construction fences. The theatre seating area is made of wooden pallets. The workshop section is built using product racks.

After seeing examples in the inspiration area,  visitors can do things themselves in the workshop. They can make buildings from different materials like a real architect! They can create city plans on large light boxes like urban planners. In short, visitors can create their own vision of the future. Their completed buildings can be placed on a large floor. And, from a higher platform, a city plan can be projected live onto that floor: the city of the future!
